To create a weekly chat show reviewing games involving talks
with Sheffield games developers and local game enthusiasts. Includes coverage
of up to date games events/news and reviews/discussions about all console,
tablet and pc games.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The show will be broadcast at 11am, which means the target
audience will be mostly teens on a weekend, as they don’t have school/college
to attend, and they are more stereotypically interested in games. However the
show isn’t limited to just teens as young adults and stereotypically males are
likely to be interested in the show.
SEGMENT SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
Our team will be creating content or the news and retro games section of the show. The news section of the show will consist of the latest gaming news, new releases, instalments and controls etc. We will also be creating content for a retro gaming section of the show, which will be revisiting a classic retro game, console or lesser known versions of the two, which wither thrived or flopped commercially. In this section we will create a timeline and visit the origins of temporary games.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE TIME
The broadcast time of the show will be 11am. This is an appropriate time if it is broadcasted on a Saturday/Sunday because it would be accessible to its main audience - teens and young adults - because they won't be at school/college and will have the opportunity to watch the show. The running time and frequency of the show are also important and appropriate because the show will be broadcasted weekly and runs for approximately twenty-minutes. The frequency will allow us, the production team, to have enough time to create topical content to fill each twenty minute episode and edit the show to a high standard before broadcast

LEGAL AND ETHICAL
As my group are producing the news and retro gaming sections of the show, we have to make certain legal and ethical considerations. For example, when using music we must first gain permissions from the creators of the piece so not to infringe copyright. A way of avoiding this completely would be to use licence free music from places such as 'Creative Commons' or to make our own original pieces to use on the show. When reviewing a game, we must gain permission from the creators in order to use gameplay footage in our video. Also, during the show we must make an epilepsy warning clear if using flashing images. In terms of the news section of the show, we can't promote any leaked gaming information incase the creators decide to sue us for distributing the information. When using a logo, we must gain permission so we don't infringe copyright.
