LO4: Evaluation

Production process:

First part if the task was to make sure everyone within the team had a section of the programme, this is because all the sections of the show need to be planned, filmed and edited separate. Our team got the news/retro games section. Within our team we then decided which of us would do what to get the section of the show done. My personal role within the show were the editing, to make sure the section of the show was clearly edited together.

One key decision of the show was to put lots and lots of gaming posters behind the presenters so that the audience clearly know that the genre of the show is gaming, this was also shown by what the presenters wear especially with Vicky as she had a Mine craft slogan t-shirt on.

In the filming of our section we didn't need to alter the set much as the set didn't really change, because the team wanted a constant set out all the way through. However one big issue in the editing was when we listened to the sound back we could hear a hiss, and couldn't work out what it was. However we worked it out to be the air con. We tried to edit the sound through Audition however was unable to make the hiss go away without giving the clip a echo. The only solution to this would be to use the Lapel mics when re filming to make sure the problem is overcome. This was also overcome when the air con was turned off.

The show is going to be on in the daytime so this means we have to make sure that all the language used must be suitable for the the audience.

The quality of the sound was obviously bad as we had to re film to get the hiss to go away. This also allowed us to change the framing of the shot so that we could make it look like the presenters were talking directly into the camera. However this became quite hard to do when using more than one camera actually made it look noticeable that they weren't looking straight into the camera, which made it look unprofessional

The filming of our section followed the script we produced very well and the only minor changes were the local dialect. So I think I could say the section for the news went to plan. However I feel that that for the next episode filmed we need to ensure that there is no hiss so there is no needing to re record things and to make sure that all the sections have the same layout of both cameras and set up.
